Another complication in many cases is the requirement that devices operate for years without replacing the battery while performing frequent data transfers. In other cases, some constraints include harsh or challenging RF environments. Our customers are looking for a variety of connectivity solutions where “one size fits all” solutions are ineffective.

The information is used to reduce traffic congestions, improve personal security, manage environmental hazards, save energy, and improve operational efficiency. Edge gateways focus on southbound connectivity with sensors, processing, storage, and northbound connectivity to the web in a variety of ways (e.g. LTE, Wi-Fi, wired etc.)
